Ruby-stained Casket

Ruby-stained Casket
A casket (or trinket box) with hinged lid probably from the Friedrich Egermann workshop in Haida (North Bohemia) engraved with forest scenes of animals and birds. The 5 ruby-stained panels depict a stag at bay (top), a hind at rest (front), a fleeing stag (rear), 2 pheasants (right-hand side) and a hare (left-hand side).
The base is now matt although some of the original engraving and ruby-stain can still be seen.
Some very minor damage to the ruby stain on the bevelled edge of the top panel - see Image 8. (The key to the lock is missing)
