Flared Concentric
A white 18-toothed cog cane - with a red, blue & white cross - centres this well made 5-row concentric produced, most likely, in one of the - as yet - unidentified English glassworks. The canes in the first three rows are slightly flared. The white, pale-blue & mid-blue crimps all have a cross in the centre. The 4th row consists of white, 12-toothed cogs and the outer row is composed of complex white canes sheathed in an unusual purple!
These canes are drawn neatly into the slightly concave, polished base leaving a fairly large porthole at the unfinished pontil. Like a modern day Whitefriars weight, there is a distinct ridge between the set up and the encasing glass.
