An excellent 19th Century “loose” closepack, with a pleasing combination of colours and good composite canes over clear...from an unknown maker ! The canes - although not highly complex - are varied, appear in different sizes and display evidence of a skilled maker. For instance, a red-lined white cog with a blue cross is encircled by a diaphanous blue twist torsade! There are white ruffle canes with pink centres and a square white collar (at ca. 4 o’clock) filled with 4 pale-green crimps and an 8-point pink & white star ! The magnum weight is supported on a flared foot with a narrow wear rim. The concave base is polished; the large pontil mark has been lightly ground to remove sharp edges
