A paperweight-related item - made by an, as yet, unidentified English factory - with colourful millefiori canes forming a slightly-domed cushion in the base. 5 rows of well made complex tube & ribbed canes in dark-blue, pale-green, pale & deep-pink, turquoise & white with cruciform and star centres encircle a pale-pink (or lilac ?) 8-point cane framing a smaller version of the same cane. The clear glass cushion with the millefiori set-up is set slightly deeper than the encasing walls (similar to a Whitefriars base). The pontil mark has been flame-polished leaving only very slight roughness.
