After studying approx. 40 auction house paperweight catalogues (1980 - 2000), it seemed that Baccarat TWOflower weights appear rarely - there were only 5 or 6 examples. This one is set with a dark-red double clematis with a (slightly distorted) honeycomb centre, growing from a curved stalk with two green leaves. A side branch supports a smaller lavender single clematis with 5 ribbed petals around a pink-centred stardust stamen. Both flowerheads are surrounded by green leaves. The flowers are set within a garland of alternating complex red/white arrow canes and red-lined, white corrugated canes. The weight is finished with a circular top window, 6 side printies and a notch-cut base.
