Lampwork Snake (Rare)
This rare example of a 19th Century lampwork snake is attributed to one of the glassworks in Lauscha (Thuringia). Black markings cover the yellowish-green body and head. The eyes are white & red. The tightly-coiled reptile is set over a slight depression in the polychrome ground of frit, fragments of millefiori canes and aventurine inclusions. The glass has a distinct brownish tint.
The base is flat and shows signs of age-related wear.
