A male red cardinal perched amidst 7 amber-tipped, dogwood blossoms over a clear ground. Brown branches and numerous variegated green leaves complete the design. Signed, dated & numbered Ayotte 1991 # 12/50 above the rim of the polished concave base. (The cardinal and dogwood are the State Bird and State Flower of Virginia.)
