Mauve Dahlia (ca. 1988/90)
The dahlia is probably the flower most often associated with this artist. This version - on clear - has 5 overlapping layers of pointed, shaded-mauve petals surrounding a wispy yellow stamen. The flowerhead is surrounded by a crown of dark-green leaves. The weight is cut with a circular top window and 8 oval side facets.
On the underside of one of the leaves is a small, blue/white DT signature cane - at 6 o’clock in the last image - partly concealed by the 16-point star-cut. A wide basal rim surrounds the polished, concave base.
(According to the artist, 3 or 4 similar designs were made ca. 1988/1990)
