1969 Zodiac Carpet-ground

Complex millefiori canes with blue stars around an amber/yellow rod with a black star centre, form a perfect carpet-ground for the 12 signs of the Zodiac randomly scattered across it. Each one is surrounded by a ring of millefiori canes in different colours.
The 13th cane - at 6 o’clock in the picture - is a black-on-white 1969 date cane. Flat, polished base with the acid-etched Baccarat insignia.
(The number and date on the base only appeared in the 1970s, as did the “B” in the signature cane).
