1969 Zodiac Carpet-ground

A large weight with the 12 signs of the zodiac - each one surrounded by a circle of millefiori canes in different colours - randomly scattered across a carpet-ground of complex yellow & green millefiori canes. Dated on a single cane in black numerals on white: 1969 (at 6 o’clock in the first picture).
Flat polished base with the acid-etched Baccarat insignia.
(Edition sizes, numbers and dates on the base only appeared in the 1970s).
