Fruit Basket - Prototype (ca. 1978/79)

This is the prototype to a limited edition of 200 issued by Selkirk Glass in 1979. The leaves are slightly more extended in this version than in the later edition weight. The basket contains bunches of purple grapes, green pears, a red apple, peaches and a ripe fig. Set over a dusky-pink, textured ground
A PH signature cane is embedded in the underside of the colour ground. The polished base is slightly concave and scratch-signed: Trial Piece Peter Holmes Selkirk Glass Scotland.
