Fire Lizard Ed. 100 (1984)
During his career, the artist has designed numerous lizard weights. This is a particularly colourful lizard with a shimmering blue body turning to grey in the long curling tail. The bright-red markings on his head continue as a stripe along both sides of the body into the tail. Such a brightly-coloured fellow has little camouflage amongst the sparse vegetation, but he is already eyeing his prey: an unsuspecting ladybird in the low-growing mauve flower to his right.
Acid-etched on the flat, polished base: Caithness, Fire Lizard, Scotland. The base is also numbered and scratch-signed William Manson. (Original numbered certificate)
