An “end-of-day” weight with whole & partial canes, filigree twists and green, red & copper aventurine inclusions. A “WM” signature cane is set slightly off-centre in addition to a number of “PP” signature canes - an indication, perhaps, that the millefiori was from the relatively short-lived Phoenix Paperweights venture set up by glassworkers from Perthshire after that company closed down. The weight has a flat, polished base with a lightly-ground - but visible - pontil mark. Signed, dated and numbered: William Manson Snr. 2003 5/5.
