Peppercorn Ed. 105 (ca. 1985)
A lampwork peppercorn and 2 ribbed green leaves - encircled by a garland of Whitefriars green & white millefiori canes (over an opaque white ground) - believed to have been made by Willie Manson. Etched on the base is the name Ruker & Slann - a company which traded in coffee and spices - a person's name and the date 1939-85. The weight was presumably commissioned from Caithness Glass to mark some important event - hence the rather odd edition number of 105 - this being No 1!
Scratched on the flat, polished base, below the inscription “Piper Nigrum” - black pepper - is the edition size and number 1/105!
