Millefiori Flowers 1/1 (2010)

A delightful miniature one-off design depicting 2 millefiori flowers on a translucent cobalt-blue ground. At first glance, the flowers appear to be a pale-caramel colour - a closer inspection, however, shows the petals are made of mustard-yellow cog canes set around slightly-elongated yellow, white & blue Maltese Crosses with split canes joining the 6 petals to a complex green, blue, white & pink “stamen”. The design is completed by 2 stems, green leaves and 2 buds made of the same canes are the flower petals.
Signed in the basal concavity with a PMCD 10 signature/date cane and inscribed 1/1.
