The lampwork flower in this design has 6 deep-blue, velvet-like petals set around a pale-green & red complex millefiori cane “stamen”. The tips of 3 green leaves are just visible between the upper petals. The flower is lying on a bed of arched parallel strips of latticinio over a translucent, mottled amethyst ground. The blue, white and green millefiori canes forming the border garland are drawn underneath into a basket. Set in the polished, concave base is a P1981 signature/date cane. (Although planned as an edition of 400 pieces only 265 were actually made).
