A closepack mushroom with a dark-blue SL1953 signature/date cane in a tomato-red on white double overlay, cut with a top window and 5 side facets. The colours of the millefiori canes - ranging from yellow, pink & white to red, blue & green - are pale in comparison with those found in St Louis’ antique weights. The stem of the mushroom tapers to a 24-point star-cut base. A lovely weight - documenting the re-introduction of paperweight making in one of the oldest French glasshouses.
