1971 White Carpet ground

This weight is not to be found in St. Louis catalogues or Gérard Ingold’s book “The Art of the Paperweight - Saint Louis” but was perhaps a trial design for the 1972 pink carpet ground with millefiori roundels. Set around a composite  red, white & black tube cane, is a carpet of red-lined, white cog canes punctuated by 5 millefiori roundels similar to the centre cane.
A black/white SL1971 signature/date cane is set between two of the millefiori roundels. Polished, concave base.
