A black-bodied butterfly with outstretched wings over a stardust ground. Complex millefiori canes - made of blue& white tubes - have been used for both the fore and hind wings, which each have a red eye spot. Long violet antennae complete the insect. A colourful SL1982 signature/date cane is set in the stardust ground near the perimeter. The canes in the outer row are drawn neatly underneath the design to a small porthole in the centre of the polished, concave base.
