1983 Winter (Ed. 250)
Originally issued in 1982, this series of weights depicts the 4 seasons. Each has a central sulphide figure surrounded by lampwork flowers. The figure in “Winter” is a cherub wearing a warm cloak with white flowers and buds to the right and left-hand side. The opaque dark-blue colour ground is covered with splashes of white, representing falling snow. The weight is cut with a large, flat, top window and 6 concave side facets.
The concave base is inscribed: Quatre Saison • Four Seasons • Hiver • Winter. Signed on the underside of the colour ground with an SL1983 date cane.
