1991 Mauve Flower on White
A medium-size weight from the Floralies series issued in 1991, although none are illustrated in Gérard Ingold’s book “The Art of the Paperweight”. The flower’s 5 petals - made of 3 or 4 fine, mauve filigree threads - are recessed in the domed, opaque white cushion. The flower is borne on a green stem with a single lampwork leaf at the base.
A red/white SL1991 signature/date cane is set adjacent to the bottom of the flower stem. A narrow basal rim surrounds the polished, concave base, which is acid-etched with the “Cristal St Louis France” logo.
