1992 Red Currants
One of a series of 6 medium-size weights issued in 1992 depicting various types of fruit - including cherries, a peach and pear - although none of these motifs appear in Gérard Ingold’s book: “The Art of the Paperweight” or in the 1992 St. Louis catalogue.
A bunch of red currants - along with 3 green leaves - hang from a branch over an opaque white ground. Signed on the topside with a blue & white SL 1992 cane and on the underside with an acid-etched “Cristal St Louis France” logo.
Cut with a flat top facet, the weight has a polished concave base.
