1970 Mayflower (Special Edition ?)
The “Mayflower” was the 1st limited edition issued by the company and usually the ship motif centres a 5-row concentric. Here it is framed by a “carpet” of randomly-set red, blue and black canes - with larger green & white and mint & white canes scattered amongst them - and a double border garland of white and straw-coloured canes...all over a clear ground. Signed with a white & blue 1620-1970 cane in the white row.
The weight has a top facet and all-over geometric side faceting As there is no scratched number on the base, perhaps this was not part of the edition, but a trial or prototype before series production began.
