1979 Rare Scattered on Ruby
35 florets - in colours ranging from aqua, lavender & pale-blue to yellow, pink, dark-blue and pistachio - are scattered across a mottled ruby ground. Weights with selenium ruby grounds are rare due to the difficulties the company had in reproducing the soda-based colour for use with lead crystal.
Concealed among the florets is a blue & white 1979 signature/date cane. The domed weight bears an original factory label.
Provenance: the estate of the late Geoffrey Baxter, chief designer at Whitefriars.
