Probably an early Ysart Brothers paperweight set on a semi-translucent amber ground. The 4-cane centre was a feature often found in weights made by Salvador Ysart. The canes are mainly 2-colour tubes (pale-blue/white, green/white & mulberry) filled with internal stars (pale-orange & red). The exception is a row of yellow cruciformcanes containing a pale-green cog. Latticinio twists provide the spokes. There is some striation in the dome, but it doesn’t affect the overall impression. Flat, fire-polished base with a small, off-centre polished concavity.
