Dated Magnum Concentric

A magnum concentric inscribed Caithness Glass 1965 on the base. Surrounding an orange/white/green centre cog are two rows of millefiori canes - one with deep-pink/white/green composite canes, the other composed of ochre/white cog clusters alternating with red/white/green corrugated canes. Between them - and around the perimeter - are circles of Ysart-style latticinio twists and tubes. The first has an unusual blue & pink twist separated by turquoise/white cogs, whereas in the perimeter garland white latticinio tubes are set between complex blue/green/white millefiori canes. Although the ground appears black, it is translucent pale-amber !
Inscribed on the flat polished base is: Caithness Glass 1965. (See final image !). The base has signs of wear commensurate with its age.
(It is believed that Caithness distributed these dated weights (ca. 5 one-off designs made by Paul each year) to their major outlets to see if they thought there was a market for them).
