Early Closepack / Butterfly Cane
Set on a thin, opaque mid-blue ground are what appear to be a mixture of early Paul and Salvador Ysart canes. So who made it? Opinions differ! Was it a trial to test compatibility. Whoever made it, the weight is an interesting cane study...especially the butterfly cane at 3 o’clock which is often attributed to Paul Ysart (see What’s New? Page 6, PCC Newsletter No 91, August 2006 for 8 of them in a border garland...).
High dome with a faint purple tint and a flat, polished base.
