Garlanded Butterfly (PY Cane)
Centring an opaque sky-blue colour ground is a gold aventurine-bodied butterfly with a red head and black antennae. The fore wings are complex blue, pale-green & red elongated millefiori canes; the hind wings are dark-blue with green-centred white cogs. The insect is encircled by a continuous garland with alternating pink/green and blue/pale-green complex canes set in a 1-2-1-2 formation.
The PY signature cane is placed between two pink canes directly below the butterfly. Flat, polished base. Attributed to the late 1940s/50s Moncrieff period.
